On February 3, Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Howard was presented with Mendota Elementary School's Cougar Award of Excellence for his 24 years of service to the Minnesota Air National Guard. Throughout his career, Howard served as a flight nurse and cared for both military and civilian patients. He was deployed six times over the 24 years, with five of his deployments being after September 11, 2001. Highlights of his time in the Minnesota Air National Guard include transporting patients from New Orleans after a hurricane and providing medical treatment to communities in Ecuador. Howard is the father of Kathryn and Liam Howard, who are both students at Mendota Elementary. Thank you for your service, Lieutenant Colonel Howard!
